The first Rotary Day was held at Williamson’s Lake in 1930 and ever since the Rotary Club of Revelstoke has been working to make improvements over the years. In 1934 the development of Williamson’s Lake begin with the installation of picnic and camping ground for the community along with suitable bathing facilities, shelters and picnic tables and chairs. The club did not stop there, furthering the development by putting in a block dam, installing a playground, log retaining walls and a wharf. In 1957 bath houses at the lake were built followed by a diving tower and slides. Most recently new docks were installed.
